UCLA Recreation is excited to welcome registered UCLA campus affiliates back into our spaces as of March 16, 2021!

Here you can find the latest updates covering our phased reopening plans. While Return to Rec membership is only open for registered UCLA affiliates at this time, please return to this website for more information on reopening, including when Return to Rec membership will become available for community members, UCLA Alumni, dependents, and household adults.

Return to Rec Membership is now available to registered UCLA undergraduate and graduate* students, extension students, graduate residents, UCLA faculty, staff, and emeriti/retirees.

Registration Process

The Return to Rec membership is non-refundable. Individual facility offerings and policies have been updated. Please review all details of your desired facilities before purchasing the Return to Rec Membership. Visit https://recreation.ucla.edu/facilities for complete facility offerings.

Step 1: Register for the Spring Quarter Return to Rec membership today!

Complete your Return to Rec membership to grant you access to our Bookings reservation system for in-person recreation.

Instructions:
1. Go to: https://secure.recreation.ucla.edu
2. Click “Log In” in the upper right corner to sign in with UCLA Single Sign On (SSO)
3. Click on “Memberships”
4. Choose “Return to Rec Membership”
5. Continue through the checkout process

Eligibility

This Spring Quarter Return to Rec Membership is now available to registered UCLA undergraduate and graduate* students, extension students, graduate residents, UCLA faculty, staff, and emeriti/retirees.

Important: If you are an eligible affiliate described above and see “Active Membership Required” and are unable to register, please email info@recreation.ucla.edu to assist in updating your access.

*Students enrolled in a UCLA Self Supporting Degree program , extension program, graduate resident or post-doc program, are not eligible for a free Return to Recreation membership at this time.  

When more information about membership availability is available, UCLA Recreation will announce it on this website; please check back often for updates!

 

Pricing

  • Registered UCLA undergraduate and graduate students: $0
  • UCLA Self-supporting Degree students, extension students, graduate residents, faculty, staff and emeriti/retirees: $60/quarter 

This membership is nonrefundable, no exceptions. 

Online registration and payment only, not available for any in person transactions. This Return to Rec membership cannot be prorated and is not available for payroll deduction or refunds of any kind.

 

Facilities 

This membership includes access to all available outdoor facilities, starting with Sunset Canyon Recreation Center Tennis Courts, Amphitheater Lawn, SCRC Family Pool, Marina Aquatic Center, and Drake Stadium. 

Additional outdoor facilities, such as SCRC Park Pool, will be added into this membership as they begin the phased reopening process. 

Update: Kinross Recreation Center Courtyard remains closed due to maintenance. 

All indoor facilities remain closed until further notice.

Facilities will have reduced capacities and limited hours. Facilities may also have intermittent and immediate closures due to health and cleaning requirements.

Facility & Conduct Agreement

  • Reservations may be canceled and facility closed in inclement weather, unsafe conditions and for scheduled classes.  

  • Personal water bottle recommended. Beverages must be in a spill-proof, unbreakable, re-sealable container. No spitting. (Mask must be promptly put back onto face after drinking) 

  • Maintain personal hygiene as to not be disruptive to the environment. 

  • Standing on or leaning over rails, fences, and other equipment is prohibited. 

  • No photography or video recording unless approved by UCLA REC management 

  • Be respectful of all equipment, patrons and staff. 

  • Follow all staff directions, participant expectations and posted facility signage.  

 

Booking Policies

  • Must be a currently registered UCLA undergraduate and graduate student with a Return to Rec membership to make a Bookings. No guest or day passes allowed.
  • When UCLA Staff, Faculty, and Emeriti/Retirees become eligible for a Return to Rec membership, they will also be required to make a reservation through Bookings.
  • Bookings are required to enter all Recreation spaces. 
  • Participants will be able to make a Booking starting 3 days in advance, up until one hour prior to the Booking start time. By obtaining this membership a Booking is not guaranteed at any time.
  • Participants are limited to one booking per zone, per day. Any additional Bookings will be cancelled.
  • Bookings that cannot be attended must be cancelled no later than 60 minutes prior to the start time. Failure to cancel your Booking may result in a membership suspension.
  • In the event that UCLA Recreation cancels your Booking for any reason, you will not be issued a make-up Booking, membership extension or any compensation.

 

Entry Policies

  • Complete the UCLA symptom monitoring survey the day of your Booking and prior to your arrival to campus. The survey link can be found here and in your Booking confirmation email:  UCLA Symptom Monitoring Survey
  • Present current Rec Card, Bruincard or valid photo ID for entry.
  • Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose at all times and allows you to remain hands-free. No expiration valves allowed. Face shields must be accompanied by face mask.
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance from others or more as determined by facility or program.
  • Secured storage is not available. Users are responsible for personal belongings. Do not bring valuables. UCLA Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Spaces must be used as intended. No loitering.
  • Any participant displaying symptoms of illness may be asked to leave the facility.
  • No in-and-out privileges. No re-entry upon exit.
  • You may not enter the zone before your Bookings start time and you must exit the facility by your Bookings end time.
  • Failure to comply with policies and guidelines, facility signage, and staff instruction may result in removal from a facility, a membership suspension or membership revocation.

What are the cancellation policies for Bookings and how do I cancel my Booking? 

  • Bookings that cannot be attended must be cancelled no later than 60 minutes prior to the start time. Failure to cancel your Booking may result to a membership suspension.
  • To cancel your booking, please follow the instructions below:
    • Log into your account: https://secure.recreation.ucla.edu/
    • In the top right corner, click on your username and then “Profile”
    • Find Bookings in the left column, and cancel your desired Booking

     

I am a UCLA Alumni. Can I purchase the Return to Rec membership? 

No. At this time, only currently enrolled UCLA students and employees are eligible for this membership to make reservations for our outdoor facilities.

When will additional spaces reopen?  

UCLA Recreation will post any additional reopening plans on this website. Please visit this page in the future for details.

What payment methods are acceptable?  

Online payments (credit card, debit card) are accepted. No purchases can be made in person. No refunds are available. This membership is not prorated.

How do I make a group reservation? Is the Return to Rec Membership required?

Group and facility reservations do not require a Return to Rec membership and must be requested through our Reservation system: https://reserve.recreation.ucla.edu/ 

What safety measures will UCLA Recreation staff be following for in person Bookings? 

  • Face masks are required for all staff; those in closer contact with also have a face shield 
  • Facilities now have additional floor markings and signage to keep staff and patrons at safe distances
  • Facilities have reduced capacities
  • Most facility hours and booking times have been staggered to allow for sanitation of equipment.
  • Recreation staff are following University required COVID testing guidelines and some partake in the vaccine program

What should I do if I need special accommodations?   

  • Please email info@recreation.ucla.edu at least 48 hours prior to your Booking with details so we could plan and best accommodate your request.

Can I bring my dependent, household adult, guest, or pet to the facility?   

  • No. Only the member designated for the Booking may come to the UCLA campus per Campus guidelines.
  • For SCRC Tennis Bookings, both players must make a Booking for the specific timeslot in order to play together. Members who make an individual tennis Booking are not guaranteed a 2nd player, therefore we recommend booking in pairs.
