5 Places To Study Around Campus

Published: November 30, 2022

As finals are approaching, it is always a good idea to try out new study spots around campus. While everyone sticks to the basic Powell Library, The Study, and The YRL, you can explore new spots we recommend. Keep in mind, changes of scenery is one key way of increasing your productivity!

1. Sunset Canyon Recreation Center

While most go to swim, play volleyball, or tan in the sun, for some, Sunset Rec is a favorite reliable study spot on the hill. There are picnic tables to work on your laptop and lounge chairs for you to finish your weekly readings.

This is surprisingly a famous study spot for students, probably due to the number of spots available and the beautiful views of the court. The sun shines bright during the day and the lights keep it lit at night. This rec facility is right between the hill and campus, a perfect spot for you to memorize your materials in between classes and breaks.

2. Anderson Rosenfeld Library

The modern library with huge floor-to-ceiling windows that is located at the back of Anderson is quite a hidden study spot for students. While most private study rooms are reserved for Anderson students, most tables across the 4 floors of the building are open for any student!

3. Los Angeles Tennis Center

Another famous study spot for students, probably due to the number of spots available and the beautiful views of the court. The sun shines bright during the day and the lights keep it lit at night. This rec facility is right between the hill and campus, a perfect spot for you to memorize your materials in between classes and breaks.

4. Northern Lights Cafe

Matcha, scones, and a fireplace. Truly a cozy study spot perfect for Fall. For those that love studying in cafes and find Kerckhoff too full, this is the place for you.

5. The Canopy

Newly open at the beginning of Fall 2021, this study spot immediately became some students' favorite. From the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Olympic and Centennial Hall to the easy access to the Drey Dining Hall, this 2-floor study spot is definitely worth a try!
