Nature Day Camp 2023

(1st - 3rd Grade)

December 18 - 22, 2023

Must be currently in the 1st-3rd grade during the 2023 - 2024 academic school year and at least 6 years old by December 1, 2023.

Brighten up your child’s winter break with a week in nature! The UCLA Mathias Botanical Garden’s Nature Day Camp provides campers with active learning experiences, exploration, and fun in the great outdoors. Campers will engage their senses and their skills of observation while learning about the plants and animals of Los Angeles. The camp begins and ends at the La Kretz Garden Pavillion but the bulk of the day will take place in “the best classroom of all - nature!” This week-long program runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is based out of La Kretz Garden Pavilion at the UCLA Mathias Botanical Garden (Drop off and Pick Up at La Kretz Garden Pavilion)

Nature Day Campers enjoy a staff-to-child ratio of 1:6. Instructors are passionate and experienced outdoor educators who are experts in their fields, have undergone training and background checks.

Daily Schedule:

  • 8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Drop-Off
  • 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Camp Programming
  • 3:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Pick-Up

Week 0: December 18 - December 22

Camp Fees are organized in a three-tier payment system.

  • TIER 1: CURRENT UCLA STUDENTS, $435
  • TIER 3: UCLA STAFF AND FACULTY, $540
  • TIER 5: ALL OTHERS, $650
