Bruin Fitness Center

we are hiring fitwell consultants for JWC, BFIT, KREC, and Drake Stadium.

The Bruin Fitness Center (BFIT) is a unique facility that offers an exclusive recreation environment for UCLA undergraduate students.

BFIT offers

  • 14,000 sq. foot cardio and strength & conditioning areas
  • 60+ premium cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, spin bikes, bikes, & more
  • 50+ pieces of strength equipment including free weights, squat racks, & selectorized equipment
  • Day use lockers
  • Universal restrooms
  • Personal fitness trainers
  • FITWELL Services desk

Policies and Procedures

Access and Age Restrictions

  • Facility eligibility is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to participate in open recreation fitness unless in an approved, instructor-led activity.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to use the cardio and strength equipment, unless otherwise determined by instructor-led activity or program.
  • Only UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers may conduct training sessions in any UCLA Recreation facility.
  • Indoor spaces will be closed in unsafe conditions and for scheduled classes.

Facility Policies

  • Bicycles and electric scooters are not permitted indoors.
  • Skateboards and non-electric scooters must be stored on appropriate rack or in a locker.
  • Beverages must be in a spill-proof, unbreakable, re-sealable container. No spitting.
  • No photography or video recording, unless approved by UCLA Recreation management.

Participant Policies

  • A top, bottom and shoes are required, unless otherwise determined by instructor-led activity or program.
  • Closed toed/closed heel athletic shoes are required.
  • Clothing with buttons, zippers and studs is prohibited on upholstered equipment or any cardio seat.
  • Clothing or towel must provide a barrier between skin (except hands), upholstery and mats.
  • Towels are highly recommended.
  • Backpacks and bags are not allowed on the floor. Personal belongings should be secured in a locker.
  • Do not hang any item on cardio equipment.
  • Beverages must be in a spill-proof, unbreakable, re-sealable container. No spitting.
  • Maintain personal hygiene as to not be disruptive to the environment.
  • No strongly scented deodorants, perfumes or colognes.
  • Be respectful of all equipment, patrons and staff.
  • Follow posted zone-specific policies and all staff directions.

Equipment:

  • Dumbbells, plates, and bars should not be dropped from any height.
  • Collars must be used on all bars when weight is added.
  • Do not lean bars or throw balls against walls, windows or ceilings. No contact with windows during any activity.
  • Do not stand bars or dumbbells vertically on floor.
  • Rerack dumbbells, barbells, plates and all other equipment to designated storage locations after each use.
  • Spotters are recommended for all free weight exercises performed over the head, face, and chest.
  • Maintain a safe distance between users.
  • Equipment must be used as intended. Modifications are NOT allowed.
  • All free-standing movements must be performed in designated area.
  • Wipe off equipment after each use.
  • 30-minute time limit (including warm up and cool down) on all cardio equipment when others are waiting.
