Counselors in Training *Orientation*, CIT (9th - 12th)

**This program has a new format this summer!**

Must be entering 9th - 12th grade and at least 14 years old by September 1, 2025

This Counselors in Training (CIT) program helps high-school age campers build valuable professional and personal skills, while giving them practical experience working with youth. All CITs must first attend an orientation session which includes training, camp orientation, and team building with our CIT Coordinator. Once orientation is complete, campers can sign up for one-week service sessions where they will be matched with a younger camp group for hands-on experience. During the service weeks, CITs will assist in leading activities, will participate in leadership workshops, and will plan a special event.

ORIENTATION SESSIONS

All CITs (including returning CITs) must register for and attend one in-person training in prior to beginning participation in a CIT service week. There are 4 session options to attend the required training, starting this spring. At training, CIT candidates will learn the various tasks and duties that CITs perform to assist at camp and will learn what it takes to be successful as a leader in a camp setting. Orientation sessions will also include a camp placement interview to determine the best fit for service session.
