UCLA Recreation

Drake Track Stadium is a nine-lane 400-meter track with javelin, triple jump, long jump, high jump, and an infield events area. A handicap accessible unisex restroom is located on the track level. Spectator seating capacity is 11,700. Fitness equipment available during open recreation hours.

Updated Facility Policies and Procedures

Access, Conduct, Etiquette & Attire

  • Must have an appropriate reservation to enter the facility and/or class

  • Must present current certificate of clearance from the UCLA Symptom Monitoring Survey for facility access and/or class participation

  • Face coverings are required in all spaces at all times

  • Must be an active participant during reservation. No loitering

  • Anyone displaying symptoms of illness may be asked to leave the facility and/or class

  • Patrons must exit the facility promptly upon completion of reservation

  • A shirt, bottoms and shoes are required, unless otherwise determined by instructor-led activity or program. Closed toed/closed heel athletic shoes are required.

  • Personal water bottle recommended. Beverages must be in a spill-proof, unbreakable, re-sealable container. No spitting. (Mask must be promptly put back onto face after drinking)

  • Maintain personal hygiene as to not be disruptive to the environment.

  • Standing on or leaning over rails, fences, and other equipment is prohibited.

  • No photography or video recording unless approved by UCLA REC management

  • Be respectful of all equipment, patrons and staff.

  • Follow all staff directions, participant expectations and posted facility signage.

Activity and Equipment

  • Dumbbells, plates, and bars should not be dropped from any height.

  • Collars must be used on all bars when weight is added.

  • Do not stand bars or dumbbells vertically on floor.

  • Return dumbbells, barbells, plates and all other equipment to designated storage locations after each use.

  • Maintain a minimum of 10 ft distance from other users in exercise areas and 6 ft of distance in lines and walkways

  • Equipment must be used as intended. Modifications are NOT allowed.

  • All free-standing movements must be performed in designated area.

  • Clean equipment before and after each use.

Assistance

  • Report any blood, injury, equipment malfunction or facility feedback to the FITWELL staff immediately.

Access Restriction

  • Only UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers may conduct training sessions in any UCLA Recreation facility.

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to use strength areas, unless otherwise determined by instructor-led activity or program.

  • Reservations may be canceled and facility closed in inclement weather, unsafe conditions and for scheduled classes.
