Requirements for Registration
UCLA Recreation Summer Camps are open to all including the UCLA Community and the general public.
After registering for our camp programs, all families will receive an email from UCLA recreation via CampDoc with instructions on how to digitally submit the following required information:
1. A copy of current immunization records.
UCLA Recreation requires all youth participants be up-to-date with all immunizations before they can attend programs and camps. For a complete overview and further details, please review the California Department of Public Health guide for required immunizations.
2. Health, physician, and insurance information.
3. Names and phone numbers of emergency contacts (at least 2).
4. Names, phone numbers, and photos of individuals authorized to pick up your child (including yourself).
Registration Instructions
Before Registering for Camp:
Please make sure your account is set up and your pricing tier is activated! Carefully follow the steps below to confirm your eligibility:
STEP 1. Make sure you have access to your account in the UCLA Recreation Webstore
- Current UCLA students, faculty, and staff: Choose “Click here for UCLA Logon,” and sign in through your UCLA Single Sign On credentials.
- Returning Families: If you have already created a profile, sign in using the username and password you previously set.
- New Families: If this is your first time visiting our online store, click “SIGN UP” to make a new profile. Please do not create a profile under your dependent’s name - create a profile under the parent/guardian’s name, as it will ask you to add your dependents after. When creating your profile, enter your Recreation ID number as your “Member Information”, if applicable. If you are not affiliated with the university, leave “Member Information” blank.
STEP 2. Confirm that your dependents are linked to your account.
Once you are signed in, access your profile by clicking your username or icon in the upper right. At the bottom of the profile page you can view and "add a family member".
STEP 3: Activate your correct pricing tier by emailing campregistration@recreation.ucla.edu*
The pricing tier has already been activated for campers enrolled in Summer 2023, Winter or Spring 2024. Follow the steps above for any new campers.
**IMPORTANT NOTE: If your camp pricing tier is not activated, you will see an error that reads ‘Active Membership Required’. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY REC MEMBERSHIP TO BYPASS THIS ERROR. Instead, email campregistration@recreation.ucla.edu to activate your pricing tier.
Navigating the Webstore:
Once all 3 steps above are complete, you are ready to register! Direct links for registration can be found on the camp offering pages, or you can navigate using the below steps in the UCLA Recreation Webstore.
- Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.

Click "Youth Programs" icon.

Find the desired program (sorted alphabetically), and the desired offering (sorted by session date). Click the blue “register” button.

Select the dependent to register and follow the prompts through to your shopping cart to checkout.
Camp Fees and Payment Options
Fees for all programs are categorized in a 3-tiered payment system:
- TIER 1 CURRENT UCLA STUDENTS
- TIER 3 UCLA STAFF AND FACULTY
- TIER 5 ALL OTHERS
All camp fees must be paid in full at time of registration in the online store. UCLA staff and faculty are also eligible to pay via payroll deduction if they purchase prior to April 16. Payroll deduction is extended only to:
- Permanent employees or academic university employees with indefinite end dates who work at least 50 percent time.

Limited employees with end dates beyond September 1st who work 100 percent time.
Payroll Deduction for Employees
UCLA Recreation summer camps are pleased to relaunch the option for eligible UCLA employees to pay for camp via payroll deduction (PRD).
PRD Eligibility:
Summer Camp payroll deduction is only available for employees with an appointment end date no earlier than September 30, 2024 that have sufficient net pay to cover all monthly or biweekly deductions.
- CAREER, CONTRACT, OR ACADEMIC EMPLOYEES (or)
- TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES
All other employees must pay for their services in full at the time of purchase. (We are unable to extend payroll deduction to ASUCLA Employees.)
Prior to Camp enrollment: Please make sure your dependent(s) are added to your Recreation profile and your tier 3 pricing is activated before moving to the next steps. Access profile here: https://secure.recreation.ucla.edu/profile)
How payroll deduction works:
Customer purchases 10% of the total upfront with a credit card online to secure the dependent’s spot in the desired camp(s). The remaining 90% balance will be paid in equal payments over the course of four months (May 2024- August 2024) through automatic payroll deductions.
Deadline to apply for payroll deduction and use promo code: April 21, 2024
Activate PRD with Promo Code:
To enroll, sign into your Recreation profile and add all desired programs for your dependent(s) to your cart. To activate payroll deduction and the 10% down payment, apply the following promo code in your cart at checkout then proceed through payment: CampPRD2024
The remaining balance will be totaled by Recreation and confirmed by email. No further action is required.
Terms and Policies:
Refunds are subject to the Camp Refund Policies outlined in the below section. Any refund of camp fees will not be processed until the after final payroll deduction is made in August or September 2024. Payroll deductions that fail to go through will be requested to pay in full by credit card or may result in the camper(s) being denied registration or dismissed from camp. No refunds will be issued for failure to use promo code.
All requests must be submitted via our Cancellation Request Form.
Extended Care and Swim lessons are not eligible for payroll deduction and must be paid in full at the time of checkout.
Payment Schedule: Link to payroll calendar schedule
Paid Monthly: The remaining 90% balance will be divided into four monthly payments and will be deducted from your paycheck on the first of each month.
Paid Bi-weekly: The monthly deduction amount will be split 50% between each of the two bi-weekly paychecks that are PAID in that month (regardless of the actual pay period end date). July 2024 has three biweekly pay checks; only the first two biweekly paychecks (July 3 and 17) will show summer camp deductions.
Discounts and Camp Scholarships:
A limited amount of funding is available to offer camp scholarships to dependents of UCLA students, staff, and faculty. To be eligible for scholarship funding, families need to submit an application form with supporting documentation to show financial need and a demonstrated childcare need related to education, employment, and/or extenuating circumstances. SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABILITY
UCLA Recreation offers campus families need-based financial aid on a sliding scale. UCLA Recreation makes an effort to award all qualified families some level of assistance. However, scholarship consideration is done on a first-come-first-served basis. Partnership programs are not eligible for scholarships.
You will be asked to select your camp preferences below. We will reserve your space, availability permitting, based on your selections. If you are awarded a scholarship, a digital coupon code will be emailed to the primary guardian and will be instructed to register in the Recreation Online Store. This coupon code is intended only for the recipient, may not be shared, and may not be used for any other Recreation program or service. Scholarship recipients who share their coupon code may lose their financial assistance for this and all following years. Additionally, scholarship funds are not available for swim lessons, Learn to Swim, or any other aquatic programs.

UCLA Students seeking camp scholarships should review information about the CCAMPIS Grant Program to determine their eligibility for funding and other childcare resources. Eligibility and application information for the CCAMPIS program are linked on their website and in the above scholarship application form.
Camp Policies
CAMP REFUND POLICY
The parent or guardian's purchase of the 2024 camp session indicates understanding of all registration and refund policies and agreement to abide by them. All refund requests must be submitted via our Cancellation Request Form, and must be received by UCLA Recreation by the dates listed below. Prorating is not available for any program.
Summer Camps and Swim Lessons
All refund requests must be submitted via our Cancellation Request Form by the dates listed below.
- Refund Amount 90%, Request Must be Received By March 31st
- Refund Amount 75%, Request Must be Received Between April 1st - 30th
- Refund Amount 50%, Request Must be Received Starting May 1 and no later than 15 business days before the start of the session
- Refund Amount 25%, Request Must be Received Within 15 business days of the start of the session
- No refund beginning the first day of the session. If UCLA Recreation cancels a program, a full refund will be issued. All camp transfers are subject to a $25 transfer fee per session.
Camp fees paid by credit card will be credited within 5-7 business days upon approval by UCLA Recreation. Refunds will be made only to the original payment card. In-person (cash or check) purchases are not available.
TRANSFER FEE & POLICY

All transfers must be requested via our Recreation Cancellation Form no later than 3 business days prior to the first day of camp and are subject to a $25 transfer fee per session, per camper.

The transfer fee(s) will automatically be charged using the payment card saved on the guardian's Rec profile when the transfer(s) are processed.

Transfers are based on space availability and are made at the discretion of UCLA Recreation.

Children may give their spots to siblings or stepsiblings only. Programs are not transferable to anyone outside the family.
DISMISSAL FROM CAMP
There are times when the camp must dismiss a child due to psychological, emotional, or physical challenges or actions that preclude the child from participating safely or effectively in a group. If appropriate, this will result in a complete refund for the unused days. If a camper is dismissed for disciplinary reasons, there will be NO REFUND for the unused days.
ABSENCES & SHORT-TERM ILLNESS
Refunds are not available for vacations, special events, short-term illnesses of two or fewer days or other personal commitments that prevent attendance.
EXTENDED ILLNESS
A partial refund may be available for extended illness of three or more consecutive program days. Documentation (a doctor's note, test result, etc) and written note from the parent or guardian explaining the situation must be received within eight working days from the first day of absence. Upon review, participants may receive a prorated refund for the unused days minus a $50 processing fee.

WAITLIST PROCEDURE
If your child is on the waitlist and a spot opens, you will be contacted by email. If you do not respond within 48 hours, your child’s spot is no longer guaranteed.

PM Extended Care
Extended Care is only for Campers enrolled in other UCLA Recreation Camp Programs
SCRC Extended Care is available for an additional fee for those campers grades Kindergarten - 8th needing care after our regularly scheduled hours. Campers will transition to extended care after their camp program ends and enjoy supervised outdoor play until their 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm curbside pick-up time.
SCRC PM Extended Care + SwimThis Extended Care option offers the same coverage of SCRC PM Extended Care, but adds in 4 weekly (Monday-Thursday) 25-minute small group swim lessons with children at the same or similar ability. Campers will transition to extended care + swim after their camp program ends and enjoy supervised outdoor play while not in their lesson. Pick up for extended care + swim is 6:00 pm.
MAC PM Extended CareMAC Extended Care is available for an additional fee for MAC Campers needing care after our regularly scheduled hours. Campers will transition to extended care after their camp program ends and enjoy supervised outdoor play until their 5:30-6:00pm curbside pick-up time. This added option is only for campers in Bruins on Water, MAC Watersport Sampler, or Sailing Camp.
