More Information on Summer Camps

Registration & Eligibility

UCLA Rec Summer Camps registration is now open to all.

Fees are categorized in a 3-tiered payment system:

Tier 1: Current UCLA Students

Tier 3: UCLA Faculty & Staff

Tier 5: All Others

Before registering for camp:

Please make sure your account is set up and your pricing tier is activated! Carefully follow the steps below to confirm your eligibility:

STEP 1. Make sure you have access to your account in the UCLA Recreation Webstore

Current UCLA students, faculty, and staff:

  • Choose “Click here for UCLA Logon,” and sign in through your UCLA Single Sign On credentials.

Returning Families:

  • If you have already created a profile, sign in using the username and password you previously set.

New Families:

  • If this is your first time visiting our online store, click “SIGN UP” to make a new profile. Please do not create a profile under your dependent’s name - create a profile under the parent/guardian’s name, as it will ask you to add your dependents after. When creating your profile, enter your Recreation ID number as your “Member Information”, if applicable. If you are not affiliated with the university, leave “Member Information” blank.

STEP 2. Confirm that your dependents are linked to your account.

Once you are signed in, access your profile by clicking your username or icon in the upper right. At the bottom of the profile page you can view and add dependents.

STEP 3: Activate your correct pricing tier by emailing campregistration@recreation.ucla.edu*

*Returning camp families from the prior 3 years are already activated with the correct tier and will only need to email us if you added new dependents or if you encounter the error ‘Active Membership Required’. If you are not sure if your pricing tier has been activated, access ‘Memberships’ under your profile in the webstore. If activated, a membership should appear with the title ‘Camp Price Tier______’ and the camp pricing will update automatically.

Navigating the webstore:

Once all 3 steps above are complete, you are ready to register! Direct links for registration can be found on the camp offering pages, or you can navigate using the below steps in the UCLA Recreation Webstore: https://secure.recreation.ucla.edu/

  1. Sign in in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click "ALL Activities" icon.
  3. Under ‘Classification’ in the left-hand column, select ‘Youth and Family Programs’
  4. Under ‘Quarters’, select ‘Summer 2022’.
  5. Find the desired program (sorted alphabetically), and the desired offering (sorted by session date). Click the blue “register” button.
  6. Select the dependent to register and follow the prompts through to your shopping cart to checkout.

Any questions about registration should be directed to campregistration@recreation.ucla.edu

COVID-19 Information

UCLA Recreation Youth Programs is adapting our camp programs to reflect guidance and best practices from The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and the University.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

In alignment with university policy, UCLA Recreation camps are requiring that all age-eligible campers, counselors, and support staff of the program are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (and up to date on booster shots) by their first day of camp. Campers are considered fully vaccinated when 14 days have passed since receiving a single-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose vaccine. To stay up to date with vaccination, campers should receive the booster one they are eligible (as defined by the CDC).

Verification of COVID-19 vaccination will need to be uploaded to CampDoc before your camper’s first day of camp and proof of vaccination (a card or photo) should be brought to drop-off on their first day.

Limited medical exceptions and accommodations based on disabilities or religious beliefs may be requested. Those with approved vaccine exceptions must comply with university protocol for unvaccinated individuals including masking and increased testing requirements.

COVID-19 TESTING AND SCREENING

Campers are required to have a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or Antigen) administered within 72 hours of the start of their first session. Bring a proof of negative test results with you to camp on your camper’s first day of programming. If you would like to do your initial test through UCLA, please contact the camp office a minimum of 1 week before your child’s first session.

Once started in our programs, all campers will be required to participate in UCLA’s weekly testing program for all of the weeks that they are enrolled in camp. Tests and instructions for completion will be sent home weekly and collected by program staff.

For campers who have recently had COVID-19 (defined as within 90 days), PCR tests are not recommended or required due to possibility of a false-positive result. Campers in this situation should bring a negative antigen result for their first day of camp and should notify program staff of the recent positive result so they can opt out of the weekly PCR testing. Rapid antigen tests are available upon request for campers wanting to continue weekly testing.

In addition, you will be provided with a link to a daily symptom monitoring survey before the start of your camper’s first session. This survey must be completed every camp day and shown at drop-off.

Note: At this time, the testing and screening requirements apply to all participants, including those who are fully vaccinated. In the event this changes, new protocol will be communicated to all families.

MASKING

Youth Programs campers and staff are required to wear a mask while participating in indoor activities. We do not recommend wearing masks while in the pool or during water play for safety reasons.
