Registration & Eligibility
Fees are categorized in a 3-tiered payment system
- Tier 1: Current UCLA Students
- Tier 3: UCLA Faculty & Staff
- Tier 5: All Others
PRICING TIER REQUIRED TO REGISTER
Please ensure your account has an activated pricing tier using the steps below:
STEP 1. Confirm you have access to your account in the Recreation Webstore
- Current UCLA students, faculty, and staff: Choose “Click here for UCLA Logon,” and sign in through your UCLA Single Sign On credentials.
- Returning Families: If you have already created a profile, sign in using the username and password you previously set.
- New Families: If this is your first time visiting our online store, click “SIGN UP” to make a new profile.
- IMPORTANT: Create a profile using the parent/guardian’s name. Do not create a profile under your dependent’s name. If you are not affiliated with UCLA, leave “ID Number” blank.
STEP 2. Confirm that your dependents are linked to your account.
Once you are signed in, access your profile by clicking your username or icon in the upper right. At the bottom of the profile page you can view and add dependents.
STEP 3: Activate your correct pricing tier by emailing campregistration@recreation.ucla.edu*
*All 2024 Returning camp families are activated with the correct tier and will only need to email us if you added new dependents or if you encounter the error ‘Active Membership Required’. If you are not sure if your pricing tier has been activated, access ‘Memberships’ under your profile in the webstore. If activated, a membership should appear with the title ‘Camp Price Tier______’ and the camp pricing will update automatically.

About Our Camps
UCLA RECREATION YOUTH AND FAMILY PROGRAMS’ PHILOSOPHY
We are committed to providing high-quality recreational experiences that benefit the campus community in a manner which is fully supportive of and contributes to the health, wellness, development, and education of all our participants and their families, regardless of physical or cognitive ability, sexual orientation, gender identification, race, or religion. It is essential that all members of our community are aware that they are choosing to participate in an organization that holds this value and understand that our participant expectations of campers and their families is reflective of this philosophy.
INCLUSION
UCLA Recreation Camps are dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared recreational experiences inspired by the principle that learning and playing together is a path to friendship and understanding. We welcome everyone and include children with disabilities and children without disabilities in the same camp programs. We require families of campers with inclusive needs and/or those who require additional support to schedule a pre-camp meeting with our camp director and/or inclusion staff.
For the safety of all staff and participants, programs are not designed for children who have significant non-compliant, flight or aggressive behaviors. All campers, regardless of ability, are expected to comply with behavior expectations.
EXPECTATIONS
We work to maintain our inclusive environment with the support and participation of our entire camp community. All campers and their families are expected to comply with community expectations.

CPR/AED and First Aid by the American Red Cross.
Camp Fees & Payment Options
All camp fees must be paid in full at time of online registration with the exception of those who pay via Payroll Deduction.
Fees for all programs are categorized in a 3-tiered payment system:
- TIER 1 CURRENT UCLA STUDENTS
- TIER 3 UCLA STAFF AND FACULTY
- TIER 5 ALL OTHERS
UCLA staff and faculty are eligible to pay via payroll deduction if they purchase prior to Sunday, April 20, 2025.
PAYROLL DEDUCTION FOR UCLA EMPLOYEES
UCLA Recreation summer camps are pleased to relaunch the option for eligible UCLA employees to pay for camp via payroll deduction (PRD).
PRD ELIGIBILITY
Summer Camp payroll deduction is only available for employees with an appointment end date no earlier than September 30, 2025 that have sufficient net pay to cover all monthly or biweekly deductions.
- Permanent employees or academic university employees with indefinite end dates who work at least 50 percent time.
(OR) - Limited employees with end dates beyond September 1st who work 100 percent time.
All other employees must pay for their services in full at the time of purchase. (We are unable to extend payroll deduction to ASUCLA Employees.)

How payroll deduction works
Customer purchases 10% of the total upfront with a credit card online to secure the dependent’s spot in the desired camp(s). The remaining 90% balance will be paid in equal payments over the course of four months (May 2025- August 2025) through automatic payroll deductions.

- Sign into your Rec profile
- Add all desired programs for your dependent(s) to your cart.
- To activate payroll deduction and the 10% down payment, apply the following promo code in your cart at checkout
- Proceed through payment process
The remaining balance will be totaled by Recreation and confirmed by email. No further action is required.
PRD TERMS & POLICIES
All cancellation and transfer requests must be submitted via our Cancellation Request Form. Refunds are subject to the Camp Refund Policies outlined in the below section. All refunds will be processed after final payroll deduction is complete. Payroll deductions that fail to go through will be requested to pay in full by credit card or may result in the camper(s) being denied registration or dismissed from camp. No refunds will be issued for failure to use promo code.
Extended Care and Swim lessons are not eligible for payroll deduction and must be paid in full at the time of checkout.
PRD DEDUCTION SCHEDULE

- Monthly Paycheck: The remaining 90% balance will be divided into four monthly payments and will be deducted from your paycheck on the first of each month.
- Bi-weekly Paycheck: The monthly deduction amount will be split 50% between each of the two bi-weekly paychecks that are PAID in that month (regardless of the actual pay period end date). July 2025 has three biweekly pay checks; only the first two biweekly paychecks (July 2 and 16) will show summer camp deductions.
DISCOUNTS & CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
A limited amount of funding is available to offer camp scholarships to dependents of UCLA students, staff, and faculty. To be eligible for scholarship funding, families need to submit an application form with supporting documentation to show financial need and a demonstrated childcare need related to education, employment, and/or extenuating circumstances.

SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABILITY
UCLA Recreation offers campus families need-based financial aid on a sliding scale. UCLA Recreation makes an effort to award all qualified families some level of assistance. However, scholarship consideration is done on a first-come-first-served basis. Partnership programs are not eligible for scholarships.
You will be asked to select your camp preferences below. We will reserve your space, availability permitting, based on your selections. If you are awarded a scholarship, a digital coupon code will be emailed to the primary guardian and will be instructed to register in the Recreation Online Store. This coupon code is intended only for the recipient, may not be shared, and may not be used for any other Recreation program or service. Scholarship recipients who share their coupon code may lose their financial assistance for this and all following years. Additionally, scholarship funds are not available for swim lessons, Learn to Swim, or any other aquatic programs.

CCAMPIS GRANT PROGRAM
UCLA Students seeking camp scholarships should review information about the CCAMPIS Grant Program to determine their eligibility for funding and other childcare resources. Eligibility and application information for the CCAMPIS program are linked on their website and in the above scholarship application form.

Camp Transfer & Refund Policy
The parent or guardian's purchase of camp session(s) indicates understanding of all registration and refund policies and agreement to abide by them.
All refund and transfer requests must be submitted via Cancellation Request Form by the dates listed below.
CAMP TRANSFER POLICY
- All transfers must be requested no later than 7 days prior to the first day of camp and are subject to a $25 transfer fee per session, per camper.
- The transfer fee(s) will automatically be charged using the payment card saved on the guardian's Rec profile when the transfer(s) are processed.
- Transfers are based on space availability and are made at the discretion of UCLA Recreation.
- Children may give their spots to siblings or stepsiblings only. Programs are not transferable to anyone outside the family.
REFUND POLICY - SUMMER CAMP & SUMMER SWIM LESSONS
- 90% Refund: Request received by May 1
- 75% Refund: Request received after May 1 and at least 15 days before the start of the session
- 50% Refund: Request received 7-14 days the start of the session
- No refunds offered for requests received 6 days or less before the start of the session
DISMISSAL FROM CAMP:
There are times when the camp must dismiss a child due to psychological, emotional, or physical challenges or actions that preclude the child from participating safely or effectively in a group. If appropriate, this will result in a complete refund for the unused days. If a camper is dismissed for disciplinary reasons, there will be NO REFUND for the unused days.
ABSENCES & SHORT-TERM ILLNESS
Refunds are not available for vacations, special events, short-term illnesses of four or fewer days or other personal commitments that prevent attendance.
EXTENDED ILLNESS
A partial refund may be available for COVID-related or extended illness of three or more consecutive program days. Documentation (a doctor's note, test result, etc) and written note from the parent or guardian explaining the situation must be received within eight working days from the first day of absence. Upon review, participants may receive a prorated refund for the unused days minus a $50 processing fee.

WAITLIST PROCEDURE
If your child is on the waitlist and a spot opens, you will be contacted by email. If you do not respond within 48 hours, your child’s spot is no longer guaranteed.
COVID-19 INFORMATION
UCLA Recreation Youth Programs is adapting our camp programs to reflect guidance and best practices from The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and the University. Any changes or updates to these policies before the start or during the program will be communicated via email.

Extended Care for Campers in UCLA Recreation Youth Programs
Extended Care is available for an additional fee for those campers grades Kindergaten-8th needing care after our regularly scheduled hours. Campers will transition to extended care after their camp program ends and enjoy supervised outdoor play until their 5:30-6:00pm curbside pick-up time. ($85/week)
PM Extended Care + SwimThis Extended Care option offers the same coverage of PM Extended Care, but adds in 4 weekly (Monday-Thursday) 25-minute small group swim lessons with children at the same or similar ability. Campers will transition to extended care + swim after their camp program ends and enjoy supervised outdoor play while not in their lesson. Pick up for extended care + swim is 6:00pm. ($145/week)
Youth Swim
Swim Lessons are available weekdays and weekends for children aged 3-12 years.
Offerings Include:
- Weekend Private or Semi-Private Lessons (3-12 years)
- Weekday Private or Semi-Private Lessons (3-12 years)
- Swimming for Two (Parent and Child 18 months – 3 years)
- Kinds Conquer the Water (Parent and Child 3-5 years)
Lessons are located in the Family Pool at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
